groups

Joining a group is a great way to connect with others while expanding your emotional awareness and self-knowledge. Groups are organized around a central theme and include facilitated activities, dialogue and mental health education.

I provide a complimentary consultation for all potential group members. During this phone call, I can answer questions you have about groups and help you determine if signing up is a good fit for you.

Sober Curious in the New Year

10 Tuesdays; January 4 through March 8, 2022

6:45-8:15pm at 5555 N Lamar

The pandemic has contributed to growing stress and isolation for many of us. As a result, your relationship with alcohol, cannabis or another substance may now be causing you to worry. Although you’d like to make a change, 12-step groups like AA aren’t the right fit for you due to their religious undertones or requirement of complete abstinence. Sober Curious is a supportive, educational group to help you change habits that no longer serve you.

Through facilitator-led exercises and group dialogue, you’ll gain the tools, accountability and awareness to achieve a healthier relationship to substances and improve your emotional well-being. You'll receive optional homework assignments to keep you engaged throughout the week, and you'll meet a cohort of fellow travelers to reach out to for support.

Cost: $440 ($60 discount if you register before December 8, 2021)

Maximum 10 participants, proof of  COVID-19 vaccination required

Eco-Anxiety & Climate Grief Hiking Group

8 Saturdays; March 26 through May 14, 2022

9:15am-11:00am at 360 Barton Creek Greenbelt Entrance

If you’ve been feeling distressed about the consequences of climate change, you are not alone. Join us for an eco-therapy inspired process group.

Each session starts with a guided meditation, followed by a gentle hike into the heart of the greenbelt. Once there, we’ll circle up and take a seat among the trees. I’ll provide tips and tools for coping with eco-anxiety and facilitate a group dialogue for processing grief about our changing planet. Each session ends with an optional assignment for staying engaged between group sessions.

Cost: $320  ($40 discount if you register before Feb 1, 2022)

Maximum 8 participants, proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
